On November 24th residents were invited to gather in downtown Bolivar near the Christmas House at the Canal Street parking lot behind the Shop on Canal Street. Inside the Elf Tent was found hot chocolate and cookies. Message were put on ornaments and hung on the Community Christmas Tree! New this year were pin-on buttons that kids could decorate and take home, courtesy of the Bolivar Library.

At 5:00 pm the Bolivar Fire Department brought in the precious cargo of Santa and Mrs. Claus, along with a few of their elves!

Children were invited to stop in the Christmas House to visit with Santa, Mrs. Claus and the elves. Parents took pictures of their child with Santa. Kids brought their letters to Santa and left them with the elves!

Fire pits helped to keep everyone warm while music and carolling kept spirits bright!

Our sincere thanks to the many local businesses and organizations who have dedicated their time, talents and donations to this kickoff of Bolivar’s holiday season!

Special thanks to Kayla & Ashley of Canal Street Diner, LeBold Smith Funeral Home, Mary Locy Cutler Real Estate, Hennis Care Center, Haueter Landscaping, Tusky Valley High School, Wallace & Associates, Bolivar Fire Dept., Bolivar Branch Library, Holly Thouvenin and Tim White.
